I have been wanting to blog and made many attempts to do so in the past couple days but I just couldn't get myself to do it. I have been so sick that my mind is just in a blur. I only have a head cold but my mind has turned into mush. I spent a good portion of my day just staring blankly into space. Even when I'm talking to people I feel like I'm a million miles away. All day I have been talking to people and probably made no sense whatsoever because when I leave each conversation I am left in complete confusion as to what I just said. All that to say, please forgive me as this blog will probably be a catastrophic attempt at placing my thoughts into words.

The past two days have been so completely amazing! I can't even express how excited I am. So for the past week I have been working with a ministry here called Victory For All which is an organization run by a bunch of people from Holland. The children here in Jeffreys Bay are on Holiday for the week and so Victory for all put on a holiday program to give the kids something to do while they weren't at school. Each morning we meet at 8:00 and begin to get ready for the day. Then we spend about a half an hour in prayer for the upcoming day. This time has been such a blessing to me, just falling at the feet of the Lord before each day to realize and confess that we cannot do it on our own. I believe this time has also really united my team working there. We have an extremely diverse team who didn't know each other before this week. We have about 8 Americans (from my mission team AIM),3 guys from Zimbabwe who are with another mission organization, a hand full of missionaries from Holland, and then some people from South Africa. Talk about crazy when in one building there are 5 languages being spoken in one team! So yea the program has been so amazing each day we have around 300 children from the township come. We do praise and worship, have games, bible stories, and a snack its absolutely crazy but SO amazing!

Wednesday was an utterly exhausting day. I woke up at 6:00 feeling absolutely miserable. I hadn't gotten enough sleep and I had a horrid cold and had a long day ahead of me. I worked at the Holiday program from 8-12:30. We didn't have time to go back home so we ate lunch there and at 1:30 we began phase two of the day. We took all the children ages 8 and older to the beach to play games. I was given 15 little girls to be in charge of for the afternoon. Being in charge of 15 young girls is a challenge itself but being in charge of 15 girls who don't speak your language and you cannot even pronounce their names enough to call them over, now that's hectic! As crazy as it all was, I really had fun. One of the games we played that afternoon involved running into the ocean. Imagine how surprised we were when suddenly our children were stripping down into their underwear! Before I could do anything I had a pile of clothes in my arms and 15 little girls in just their underwear and undershirts. I guess its culturally acceptable but it totally caught us off guard! Even teenage boys were in nothing but their skivvies! I must say the most hilarious part of the day was when this little girl probably about 5 or 6 who was in nothing but her tighty whities sat down and filled her underwear completely with sand and then proceeded to walk around that way! Oh man what a day! I went to bed that night with not an ounce of energy left but I wouldn't have traded a minute of that day for the world!ย  I love life here!ย
